Stress is an undeniable part of our lives, and learning to cope with life's challenges requires ever evolving skillsets and sometimes ridiculous amounts of resilience. The difficult aspects of life can include so many things - relationships, aging, work stress, illness, traumas little and big, just to name a few. My areas of expertise include the anxiety, sadness, confused thinking, and emotional dysregulation that we experience as a result.
Therapy is a place to sort out what is working for you and what you want to change or let go of in life - and it can make change possible. I bring 20+ years of experience to actively support you in this endeavor, and a belief in evidence-based therapeutic strategies as well as the positive effect of warmth and laughter. It is important that therapy not be a painful experience and that it yields real benefit. My primary modality is cognitive behavioral, though I integrate some short term psychodynamic theory, and utilize techniques around mindfulness and behavioral strategies supported by neuroscience research.
Most people benefit from taking the time to explore their thoughts, feelings and goals. This is even more true when aspects of life cause you pain or distress. I work actively with people in creative ways to help you meet your goals and ideally, feel better. I bring a collaborative, direct approach in my efforts to help people develop insight, recognize strengths, change behavioral patterns, heal, and move towards happiness.
